OVERVIEW

At AudioGroves, we value your privacy and your creative focus. We believe in transparency about the technology we use. This policy explains how and why we use cookies and similar storage technologies on our platform.

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide a better, more personalized experience.

2. HOW AUDIOGROVES USES COOKIES

We only use cookies and storage for the following purposes:

2.1 Essential & Security Cookies

These are strictly necessary for the site to function. You cannot opt out of these if you wish to use AudioGroves.

Supabase (Authentication): These cookies keep you securely logged into your account as you move between pages.
Upstash (Security): We use these to protect our infrastructure from automated attacks and rate-limiting, ensuring the site remains fast and available for everyone.
PostHog (Product Analytics & Session Replay): We use PostHog to understand how our 15-second audio player and feed are performing.
-Purpose: PostHog uses first-party cookies to track events like button clicks, page views, and audio plays.
-Session Replay: This allows us to watch a visual reconstruction of a user’s journey to troubleshoot technical glitches or UI issues.
-Security & Privacy: PostHog does not use third-party tracking cookies for advertising. We automatically mask sensitive information so that it is never recorded or stored.

2.2 Functional Local Storage

To make your experience smoother, we store certain preferences directly on your browser. This data stays on your machine and is not used to track you.

Audio Preferences: We remember your volume levels and playback settings so your experience is consistent across different audio clips.
Interface Settings: We store your preference for dark or light mode.

2.3 Internal Analytics

We use internal tools to measure engagement, such as how many times a sound has been played or which Casting Calls are most active.

This data is used solely to improve our features and show trending content.

This information is never shared with or sold to third-party advertisers.

3. MANAGING YOUR PREFERENCES

Most web browsers allow you to manage your cookie preferences through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or delete certain cookies. Please note that rejecting or deleting cookies may negatively impact your browsing experience and may limit the functionality available to you on our platform.

-Note: If you choose to block essential cookies, you will not be able to log in to AudioGroves or participate in Casting Calls, as our security and authentication systems require them to function.
